This resolved our weak signal problems.Feb 21, 2010 Our house receives a weak signal from the cable provider. It is then split inside the wall between the upstairs and downstairs, front and back bedrooms. The resulting signals are too weak for ClearQAM reception. To simplify a complicated story, I removed some of the splitters and used this instead, splitting the signal into two for my PC (which has a TV tuner) and one for our ancient CRT television. The result is that the PC gets a good ClearQAM signal, a fair analog cable TV signal, and the TV gets a good analog cable TV signal. For some reason the PC's TV tuner seems to get static that the TV does not, but it's still tolerable, and I mostly watch the ClearQAM channels anyway.
To sum up: The splitter is easy to use and works almost perfectly.
Just what I needed...Feb 15, 2010 Am using this with 2 digital TV tuners & an RCA DTV converter box hooked to a TV & analog TV tuner. Hooking it up...went from less than 50% strength to 75% on a coat hanger antenna I built myself hanging outside my window. The way I could get a better signal is by mounting my antenna on the chimney above the roof line. Being that I'm scared of heights & an additional 25% of strength isn't worth me falling off the ladder or the roof.
With the better signal strength...my roommate is going to get the 1 or 2 port version of this for the cable modem since the cable company won't do anything without overcharging you for it.
Easy splitterFeb 13, 2010 A great way to split the signal. I wished it had a higher gain, though. We see a difference on it's performance at front vs back of the line.
Seems sturdy and works weelFeb 06, 2010 This unit seems very sturdy and well-made. I have a TiVo which is notorious for needing a strong signal. I hooked up this amp and now all my televisions have a solid signal. I had been using a splitter previously which really knocked the signal level down. This fixed the problem. If you're on the fence, get it!
ExcelentFeb 01, 2010 This is exactly what i needed, i have cable tv thru a cable box but before that i split the signal to send it to 3 other places, patio, next room, and cable modem, the 4th goes to my cable box, i was getting choppy signal on several channels some even a complete blackout, this totally fixed it.
Highly recommended
