The item is what is says, however, after purchasing it, I realized that it does not have the appropriate "attachments" on the back to just allow you to swap it for your old one. It is missing several critical plastic pieces that go around the hole in the bottom (for the button) and around the top. Without those pieces, you cannot use it. It's exactly what it looks like in the picture, a piece of glass with some black on the top and bottom and a couple of cutouts...that's it. There is nothing at all attached to the glass..other parts are not there (so basically, there's no way to attach it as is). Also, the supposed instructions that come with it is really just a card that tells you to search instructions online, and the plastic tools aren't that great...the tips break off. Just use caution and make sure this is actually what you need.

So i ordered this, and it arrived on the first day which is a plus. BE CAREFUL WHEN TAKING APART AND REPLACING, VERY TRICKY. But after installing, very good replacement. After installation, i found that in the beginning, there was a dead pixel, but after a couple seconds it fixed itself, so in the end its nothing really, just thought i would let people know about my experience. Also the inside of the digitizer attracts fingerprints easy so be careful during replacement!!!! There is also a scratch on the inside, but im not sure what i did, so just be careful there too, not really the products fault, just a little sensitive. The only real problem is that it attracts finger prints outside easily as well, but thats a small gripe really, can be solved with a screen protector. The screen overall is worth the money for its quality, and if it ever happens again, i will buy this same thing. Good product, ships fast, but very hard installation. 5/5

At first I was slightly apprehensive about using a screen component outside of Apple --mainly the compatability and product reliability. Anyhow I couldn't resist after reading reviews posted by other users and the affordable price, actually cheap in comparison to what the Mac Store charges to replace a screen. Long-story-short, I'm glad that I took my leap of faith, this product has worked out as good as can be expected. The only downfall is that the original seal for the screen is to be replaced with adhesive strips which leaves my Iphone even more vulnerable to water damage. Check out youtube for tutorials on how to replace the screen and your in business!!
