great sound for such a small packageAug 23, 2010
The sound quality is not amazing, but it is good enough, and can get quite loud.
The speakers are easy to move and when placing them on some laptop surfaces, their magnetized bases actually help stabilize them.
The volume control and usb-rechargable batteries are a big plus.

This is a functional product that is extremely compact, and easy to use, but produces only mediocre sound quality. While the Chill Pill is great at producing amplified sound for an ipod, I purchased it to provide a portable upgrade to my laptop's built in speakers. Sadly, the sound quality is almost indistinguishable from the built ins. Just be sure to think about how you intend to use it; ipod, sure...laptop or desktop, not so much...

I'm going to school to become a massage therapist. For our clinic, we have to bring so much stuff with us. I didn't want to use the CD player the school had in the clinic room. I didn't want to take the chance of my CD scratching and skipping. I always have my iPhone with me so I wanted to purchase speakers for my iPhone. The only problem I had was I have the otter box and it takes a minute to remove it off the phone. I needed something portable that I could just plug into my phone without removing the otter box then I could put my iPhone on airplane mode so I would not have any interruptions. I purchased another name brand but the wires did not retract and it did not charge the iPhone or iPod. I took it back to the store. I found the chill pill online. It had everything I was looking for. The wires were retractable, it charged my iPhone or iPod, it's small enough for travel and the sound is awesome.
greatest portable speakers everMar 08, 2010
These speakers were given to me as a gift. I was shocked by the incredible sound from such small speakers. I love the little carrying pouch and how light they are. I have been using them for several months and because of their recharge ability, I still have yet to recharge them. Since receiving this great gift, I have purchased several for friends and family. The price is so reasonable that it makes it easy to give. I think everyone who enjoys audio should have at least one pair.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1LGNOUYSC8DMU First things first: Don't expect high fidelity sound out of these tiny speakers - this product is all about convenience. Everything needed to operate the device stays with it, including the audio cables and built in rechargeable battery.
The only exception, and this is a big one, is that the USB charging functionality requires a separate and easy-to-lose mini-usb gender changing cable (included in the box). It's simply not possible to plug the device directly into a computer without some sort of adapter or additional cable. Most computers don't have a mini-usb connector.
That disappointment aside, these are very innovative portable speakers. I hope the manufacturers will find a way to integrate the charging cable into future versions.
