AWSOMESep 17, 2009 This antenna has improved my connection perfectly!!!! i have it on top of my CHU in Iraq (had to ship it to a friend to get it here its also connected to an amp which i highly highly suggest getting for any kind of better reception, i went to always getting dropped from Yahoo messenger and not able to connect even when sitting out side under the I-connect tower, that the addition of an amp and 3 sma extension cables im in business this produce works verry well dramatically decreased the DBI and increased the signal. the best place for it is out side with wide open networks. its only about 10 inches tall and has a semmely good magnetic on it. even in the dust stors it stays attached to my CHU.
Just ok....nothing to write a review about.Sep 11, 2009 Just a basic antenna and when used with the booster showed very dismal results. Ended up having to build a cantenna which out performed this by 40% more improved gain. Don't waste your money.
GarbageSep 03, 2009 Honestly if this thing is better than a standard router antenna I couldn't notice when I hooked it to my alfa I honestly thought the cable was broken for the little difference it made. I have used about 15 different antennas with my alfa all for different purposes and this thing is garbage. I tore the cable off mine and used it for scrap after about 2 weeks. I know its cheap but "any" third party antenna is generally going to be better than this.
Fixed the problemAug 28, 2009 I had a particularly tough situation that this antenna worked out to be the perfect solution. Worked as advertised, was priced was right and the strong magnetic base made the installation pretty darned simple: Fab a simple metal bracket, mount it on the outside wall and plop this antenna on. Job done. Believe it or not, this was the only antenna I could find in this price range with the six foot pig tail. Oh, and the delivery was fast and cheap too. I save five star ratings for "above and beyond" and I tussled if I should do four or five on this product and vendor. Could have gone either way . . . but today I felt a little stingy so I gave it a four but don't let that scare you away if this little guy fits your needs. It did mine.
Eforcity Wi-Fi Booster AntennaAug 02, 2009 This product is well worth the money. Especially if you are loosing signal strength due to distance and shut doors. There are several internet sites that show you how to make one on your own but I didn't some cheesy looking thing dangling from my workstation. What I especially like about this particular model is that it comes with a 6ft cable which allows you lots of flexibility in positioning the antenna for best possible reception. An inch to the left or right can make a big difference, so you have to play with it a little bit. Screws right into my D-Link card on the back of my desktop, no problem. For such an inexpensive product, why doesn't D-Link just add one of these in the box when you purchase the wireless card? Buy it, you won't be sorry.
