It does what it is supposed to do. I do get a sharper image on the tv..as expected.
Very good booster and splitterFeb 08, 2010
I bought this because my cable signal for internet is not stable at all. During the rainning day or windy day, I got no connection. After install this, it significantly improved my connection. However, when the incoming signal is way too low, it still cannot solve the problem. However, I can immediately feel the difference between with and without this booster. I even bought a second one as a Chrimstmas gift to my friend, which he also felt the improve of the signal.

Several of my HD channels (in the mid 200s) were not coming in or were extremely low quality (intermittent audio and a poor image). I hooked this booster in and now all of my channels come in and they're crystal clear. Simply put this signal booster ended two months of frustration I've had with Comcast.

We're a Comcast customer and we spend quite a friggin LOT for HDTV and other upgrades. But we were experiencing annoying problems: during our favorite shows, it would periodically pixellate, stutter, or even freeze for several seconds. We'd end up having to watch on regular non-HD channels (when possible). On-Demand movie downloads were impossible, they would always crash or do the same things. And DVR'd shows would do it, and on some occassions the DVR recordings seemed to black out (but we figured out ways to get them to "pop back", by starting other recordings and then switching half-way).
We had Comcast out several times. They upgraded our cable, assured us it was near 100% signal into the house, and even checked the signal to the TV's. They even installed an amplifier.
I swapped theirs out and put this one in its place. WOW. Our signal even looks better and ALL THOSE ISSUES went away!
One caveat: I noticed the Comcast guy used an amplifier and THEN split off into 3 cables AFTER the single amplified line! IDIOT!!! I'll bet if it was a 4-way splitter we would have never had these issues.
In any event, this fixed the problem. If you're experiencing similar issues, get this booster. It works GREAT! FINALLY we're getting what we pay all this money for!!!

Part of it because of the splitter.
If you need better Boost (and only use single TV), choose 484095-001-00.
If you need splitter and do not need so much boost you can go with BDA-S4
Wish BDA-S4 have more boost. maybe 20X. It Will be great
