5This amp with lower gain works better for meAug 25, 2010
I live far in the country where there is no cable TV. I have both UHF and VHF antennas each with mast mounted amps. I join the two signals at the antenna and bring the signal over a single low loss cable from my barn roof to my TVs. This amp is used on my VHF antenna. Previously had a higher gain version of this amp which caused trouble with my UHF channels. This lower gain amp works great and does not interfere with the UHF.

This preamp is easy to put up, I can get signals from transmitters 80 miles away, the picture is crystal clear.

5Antenna preamplifierJun 06, 2010
Bought this a year ago when digital change rendered our old antennae worthless. Our cabin is over 100 miles from broadcast tower so bought a new long range Winegard antenna which got us one station that faded in and out. I ordered the preamplifier, installed it near the top of the antenna and this solved the problem. We get the 3 local stations plus 2 public TV stations. Picture is steady, clear and sharp. Closed the cabin for the winter, came back this spring, plugged in the preamp and we're good to go for the season. Read the installation instructions carefully (as mfg suggests)and results should be as good as ours.

5Works well & made in USAJun 04, 2010
Although I am 40 miles to 100 miles from the transmitters, I chose the less-powerful Winegard amp because I am using the Channel Master 4228HD antenna, which has extremely high gain. This pair works well for me even though I split to four tuners. I live on a hill. I do not regret buying a more powerful amp.

1This is a rip-offMay 12, 2010
I thought this product would boost my signal at least a percentage point but in the end, it doesn't help at all. At the end of the day, if you are so far from the towers, you are so far from the towers. Don't waste your money thinking by hooking this up to your antennae, it will help. I have a good antennae, it's on a tall pole and it's on my roof. During primetime I see drop-off's of a couple of channels and just needed a small boost. This product didn't do it and I think it's a scam.
