Wireless Extender YX500Aug 30, 2010 Works excellent on 1 level...I had intermittent-to-no cell phone signal on my Verizon phone because of my location - near the city of Rochester (NY) but I have hills/valleys in my neighborhood, and the 1st floor is constructed of old cinder block. With the antenna on the 2nd floor in front, and the amplifier on the 1st floor near the back, the unit works great on the 1st floor. The unit doesn't seem to be as effective on multiple floors, but works great on the 1st floor....I'm very pleased with the improvement.
Flat out did not work for meAug 28, 2010 I set it up correctly, I wanted to believe... but it simply did not work for me. Maybe it will work for you but in my case it did nothing at all. I tested it in every way possible and I got zero benefits. I ended up getting a Microcell adapter once they became available and now I can actually use my iPhone in my house, yay.
So far, so good.Jul 31, 2010 We live in an area that has good cell service but...home built into the side of a hill, metal roof, and metal siding. Ordered the unit and while it was coming looked up the manual on line to figure out the best installation. Installed the antenna and everything else, took me most of the day, and all is working great. The antenna is on the roof and the base unit is about as far away from it as you can get (on top of cabinets in open kitchen). I have a Verizon Droid and my wife has a Verizon Devour. My Droid has no issues, my wifes Devour still shows no bars after connecting but sounds absolutely fine, huge improvement in both. Great unit.
Great wifi booster!,Jul 27, 2010 This does everything it says it will do! We have limited 3G access, and this booster enabled me to use my iPad with fast speeds.
Bill H in LouisianaJul 22, 2010 I have purchased and installed two of these units. The first one was in a steel building where I had 4 bars of signal on the outside and less than 2 bars on the inside. The unit improved my signal inside to 5 bars of signal. The second was in a home where the calls would break up and drop even though there was a signal showing on the phone. Now we have clear reception and transmission. We all use either Blackberrys or I-Phones.
