3Wireless Extender zBoost YX500 for Cell PhonesNov 13, 2009
My problem is that I don't have good cell phone signal in my new home. We are thinking it is the foil lining of the insulation in our attic. Verizon says that there is a tower within a two mile radius of our home so it can't be the tower's signal. We bought this product to enable us to have more signal inside our home. I am happy to say that it does give us more signal. However, I was hoping for better signal; but I guess half the signal is better than none. I do recommend this product, but just be aware that it may not give you 100% signal. I would also recommend installing the antenna outside on your roof; the higher the better.

1Does not work.Nov 02, 2009

I received this product and installed as directed. It does not work at all. I get a
green power light but that is all. I called wi-ex tech support and they were less
than helpful. One tech wanted me to buy the dual frequency. I don't know why if the
single frequency does not work. I checked with Verizon before ordering and verified
I am running on 1900mhz. Wi-Ex also verified the same. I need a signal booster but
I want to look for something other than ZBoost. The manual plainly states Wi-Ex
guarantees the product but tech support said I had to deal with the retailer. This
has not been a pleasant experience.

5Great product if you read the instructions.Oct 26, 2009
Have a 2600 s.f. two story home with office on the first floor. We are about 6 miles from the nearest cell tower in an hilly area and I had a 6 bar signal on roof, 1 bar on second floor and 0 bars in on ground floor. Was concerned about the negative reviews but had nothing to loose so I purchased the YX500-pcs. Installed it per the instructions with the antenna at the peak of the roof in the attic and the base unit on top of a cabinet in the office. Now have 6 bar signal on ground floor and 4 bars on the second floor. Almost nothing sold today is worth the price we have to pay and this is no exception. However, it did what it was advertised to do and I am a very satisfied customer.

2Should have listenedSep 15, 2009
Other reviews indicated problems with performance. I wish I had listened. While the unit was easy to install and start-up, it did not increase the usefullness of our phones in our small house.

1Avoid if want any mobility with you cell phoneAug 26, 2009
I put the antenna on the very top of my roof with it verticle ran the cable to my computer room and my phone got all 5 bars in the computer room pretty much right next to the unit. Go about 10 feet and the signal goes back down to 1 to 2 to roaming, this is line of sight of the base unit. The manual states that it will cover 2500sq ft, there is no way it would or could cover that much area let alone 10ft. The manual states that the base unit is only a .25watt and talking to a communication buisness that sells similar units that are more high end and are up to 3watts those won't even cover that much area. If you want any mobility to roam around the house and get good signal don't waste your money on this, if you are stationary with your phone or tether it to your desktop then this would work for you. One thing postitve I can say the customer service was right on the phone with me and very friendly.
